What kind of training will I receive?
The four major components of fitness are covered in my training programs to
guarantee results!

1. Nutrition: Knowing what and when to eat for maximum health and welling being is critical to your success.
2. Cardiovascular Training: Essential for the health and welling being of your cardiovascular system consisting of your heart, lungs, and blood circulation.
3. Strength Training: It is important to do strength training to allow us to build muscle tissue and maintain muscle strength and endurance, proper bone density, and to increase our fat burning metabolism.
4. Flexibility Training: It is vital that we maintain a functional range of motion and flexibility in our joints and muscles. Stress reduction,
improved circulation, increased range of motion, and the reduction of aches and pains in the body are just a few of the benefits of flexibility training.

Will strength training make me look like a big body-builder?
Normal strength training will NOT turn you into a bodybuilder with a massive physique. Keep in mind that bodybuilders dedicate at a tremendous amount of time each day to working out with specifically tailored strength training routines and diets to achieve the massive muscle mass and extreme muscle definition required for bodybuilding competitions.

Will strength training will make me fatter?
Strength training will NOT make you fatter. Strength training will strengthen and tone your muscles, increase your metabolism, which will burn more body fat. By replacing body fat with muscle tissue, you will be able to burn more calories even while you are resting.

What is involved in a Fitness Assessment?
I offer a variety of testing services to establish baselines and assess your health and fitness levels.

1. Body Composition Assessment: 7-Site caliper test to determine the body's fat to lean muscle mass ratio and to set appropriate goals for fat loss and proper body weight.
2. Body Fat Percentage Assessments: (complement the body composition assessment) I use two methods of measurement and calculation to determine your approximate body fat percentage. The first method is "Bioelectrical Impedance" that determines body fat mass and body fat percentage using these five factors: electric resistance, height, weight, age, and gender. The second method is what I call "Measurement Formula" that uses several body measurements and a calculations formula to establish the body fat percentage. This number is interpreted through a standard table.
3. Cardio Respiratory Fitness: (a heart rate monitor will be needed for this test) An evaluation using the three-minute step test, stationary bike or treadmill test is used to determine cardiovascular health and fitness. I will also look at your heart beat recovery rate that will provide feedback on your cardiovascular health.
4. Muscular Strength and Endurance Test: This is a general test that uses a series of push-ups to assess upper body muscular endurance
5. Flexibility Evaluation: A sit and reach measurement determines low back and hamstring flexibility

What is the purpose of a fitness assessment?
All assessment results are compared with age and gender specific norms. This information will be used to establish your general health and fitness and used for realistic and appropriate goal setting. I will also use this valuable information while designing your fitness program. I will periodically retest you so that I can track your fitness progress and adjust your training to ensure continued success towards your goals.

What type of personal training formats do you offer?
1. Private: one-on-one session (1 person).
2. Semi-Private: ask your spouse, friend, or colleague to join you (2 people).
3. Group: create your own fitness group (3 to 6 people).

How many sessions will I need?
You will decide that based upon your health and fitness goals. Some clients want only a base program, which takes just a few weeks while others want to see results quickly or enjoy the experience and education while working with their trainer for a longer period of time.
